Top of Today is a small experiment in a very literal kind of attention. Pay more, rank higher, and let everyone see the price.
Why I built it
Most online rankings hide the reason behind the rank.
Feeds, search results, and launch sites all have a score somewhere. You rarely get to see what moved it. I wanted to make the opposite: one board, one number, one rule.
Top of Today ranks confirmed bids, period. A $26 listing sits above a $25 listing. Clicks are reported, never scored. There is no black box and no claim that the top result is somehow the best.
Small by design
I build and run Top of Today myself. There are no investors or committees. Changes stay close to the people using it, and the product only gets complexity when it earns its place.
Honest about the deal
A bid buys rank. It does not buy clicks, customers, or an endorsement. I would rather set a clear expectation than sell a fuzzy promise.
When something goes wrong, it reaches me.
If a payment behaves oddly, a rule is unclear, or part of the board feels off, the person hearing about it is the person who wrote the code. I will not always get it right, but I can explain a decision and fix what needs fixing.
